Springtime Bunnies

Ostara, the ancient goddess of springtime has arrived and energy is running high around our home. Everyday seems to be the best day ever. Ayla is holding one of the new bunny babies Mama sewed up for Easter. With some great sewing machine lessons from friends, four little bun buns hopped away happily from my machine to the kiddos easter baskets. Caleb happily bounced around the yard searching for his easter basket, hidden behind our sacred buddah protecting the entrance to our home. Deep inside the basket surrounded by soft green fairy wool was a chocolate easter bunnny, thanks to our yummy local sjaaks chocolatier! How did the easter bunny know that I like vegan chocolate, asked Caleb with a HUGE smile on. I think we are looking at some new family traditions here. We enjoy celebrating all the holidays with the children. Our Jewish heritage and culture is very important to us and we are so blessed with a lovely community here to learn and celebrate with. However, we do explore our pagan roots as well, as we turn the wheel of the seasons. The imagery of spring lives in our home with bunnies, dyed eggs, eating and planting sprouts and seeds and little nests made of sweet smelling beeswax and wool.
